5-day itinerary · Fast first visit
5 days in Sri Lanka
Short answerThe realistic five-day version: one cultural anchor, the hill country and the south coast. It skips the far north and the east entirely, and it does not attempt two safari parks.

Before you copy this route
Five days is short for Sri Lanka. This plan uses a private driver for the road legs — by public transport it would not work.

Travel times are estimates for planning, not timetables. Reserve the hill-country train as early as the booking window opens, keep a spare night before your flight, and confirm entry requirements on the official ETA site shortly before you travel.
